The Food Experience
A Journey of Flavours
Join us on an exclusive culinary experience on Gozo, where every stop brings you closer to the island’s heart through its food, traditions, and stories.
We begin by visiting one of Gozo’s famous old bakeries. In these traditional bakeries, some dating back to 1800, stone ovens still produce the island’s beloved bread and pastries, baked with the same methods for generations!
You might even catch a glimpse of the bakers at work, pulling fresh bread or traditional ftira from the glowing embers of the wood-fired oven.
Than we head to a local estate where we can sample our freshly bought local bread from the bakery (hobz tal-Malti) accompanied either by local peppered sheep cheese (gbejna tal-bzar) , tomato paste (kunserva) or homemade olive oil (Zejt taz-Zebbuga).
To complement the flavors, we can also sample local wines or the highly sought-after prickly pear liqueur, (Bajtra).
We then venture towards the Xwejni Salt pans, where in the northern region of Gozo, we discover how salt originates from the sea, before it makes its way onto our table.
This is also a great way to take in Gozo’s breathtaking northern coastline, and a perfect moment for photography and fresh sea air.
Food Allergy Notice :
For any allergies or intolerances, we kindly ask you to inform us in advance. Please note that many of our local products are traditionally made with wheat and dairy, and alternative options may be limited, as this is a traditional food tour. The concept behind this experience is visiting local artisans in their original settings. That said, there are still plenty of food options available for you to enjoy and experience local flavours.
Kindly browse through our google reviews to read what previous guests had to say.
After we will visit a local cafeteria, where we will indulge in the local pastizzi, accompanied by local coffee and a chat with some locals. A typical gozitan’s breakfast, and a common snack!
We will then head to a breathtaking panorama of Gozo, where in the same view you will be able to see the island’s plateaus, the capital city Victoria, home to the Cittadella Fortress, accompanied with stunning views of the North and South of Gozo.
This isn’t just a food tour, it’s a feast for your senses, mixing flavours with culture, history, and local charm. Please note there is no obligation to purchase in any of the venues we visit.
